Rishone is a mover by heart and is clearly passionate about all forms. He was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica and as a youth, he grew up moving to reggae and dancehall music. He then moved to the States in 1994 where he started his hip hop journey. He taught himself hip hop by learning its rich history, and foundation of movement, and then mastering his own movement before incorporating it into choreography.
He graduated from Niagara University with a Bachelors in Biology and a minor in Engineering. He worked as a Validation Scientist for a little under 4 years for one of the top parenteral pharmaceutical production companies in the world. However, in 2014 he made a committed decision to pursue the life he was truly passionate about.
He is now the owner of Plated_Soul, a catering business that focuses on elegant healthy delicious dishes and culinary education, and is also the Co-director of Musicality Central, an adult Hip Hop studio. He has been teaching for a little under 13 years and is extremely passionate about helping others find their own movement.
His latest and greatest achievement was organizing a team of choreographers who collaborated on a cultural piece that was performed for a White House-sponsored event. “I don’t know if I could live without movement. I jam at stop lights in my car while singing to music, and in the produce aisle while picking my mangoes, and I can’t believe that I get to share that with clients 1 hour at a time. It makes me love life.” Hip-hop has always brought joy and excitement to his life, a kind of joy that is full of contagious, positive energy.
